Surface gravity

The pull you would feel standing on a world, set by its mass and its size, and what decides your weight there.

Surface gravity is the strength of the downward pull at a world's surface. It comes down to two things: how much mass the world packs, and how spread out that mass is (its radius). Earth's mass squeezed into a smaller ball would pull harder; the same mass puffed up into a giant would pull softer. This is what sets your weight, so the same body weighs more on a high-gravity world and less on a low-gravity one.

gravityfinder computes surface gravity for every world with a known mass and size, and grades its honesty: a directly measured mass gives a firm figure, while a minimum mass from the wobble method gives only a floor, shown as "at least." For gas giants, which have no ground, it reports the pull at the cloud tops instead. You can type in your own weight and see the result on any world.
